Since 1999, the Brainerd Lakes Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® has raised over $300,000.  With the support of our signature fundraiser, the Race for the Cure®, we award grants toward the fight against breast cancer by funding grassroots educational programs as well as national research.  Grants are awarded each year to non-profit organizations such as local hospitals and community organizations that provide innovative outreach and awareness programs for underserved women.  Twenty-five percent of the net proceeds raised by the Brainerd Lakes Affiliate fund national breast cancer research through the highly regarded Komen Research and Awards Program.  Partnerships with corporate sponsors and community organizations allow us to continue holding the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure®.

The Brainerd Lakes Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure^® is one of 125 Affiliates around the world.  The Brainerd Lakes Affiliate grants awards the counties of Aitkin, Cass, and Crow Wing in Central Minnesota.
